Studio Culinaire Servair: Guy Martin takes over as President; Anne-Sophie Pic is newest permanent member

Servair, a gategroup member, announced the appointment of Michelin star Chef Guy Martin as President of its Studio Culinaire for a two-year period. The creative think tank will also soon welcome a new member to the team, Chef Anne-Sophie Pic, the world’s most decorated French female Michelin-starred Chef.

Created in 2009, Studio Culinaire Servair brings together Michelin star chefs and experts to raise the quality standards of in-flight catering and transpose the practices of gastronomy to the meals offered to passengers from all over the world. As a part of gategroup, the world’s leader in airline catering, Studio Culinaire Servair is dedicated to identifying trends and innovations to optimize the chefs’ creations. It also aims to ensure professional excellence along the entire production chain by offering training courses and workshops.

Since its creation, Studio Culinaire Servair was presided by "Chef of the Century" Joël Robuchon, who passed away in August. As a culinary visionary, he overturned the practices of gastronomy not only throughout the world but also on-board by sharing his expertise with chefs from Servair.

Joel Robuchon’s successor, Guy Martin, is one of the founding members of Studio Culinaire Servair. Hailing from the Savoie region of France, self-taught and a groundbreaking chef of his generation, Guy Martin has received numerous awards throughout his career. He took over the kitchens of Le Grand Véfour in 1991 and became its owner in 2011. He was elected Best Chef of the Year by the Pudlowski guide (1995) and Gault et Millau guide (1999) and Best Chef in France by the Champérard guide (1999). In addition, he was elected “Best Chef of French Cuisine” and one of the top seven in the world by The World Master Arts of Culinary in 2001. In 2016, he won the title of Best Airport Restaurant for his “I Love Paris” restaurant situated in Terminal 2 of Paris-Charles de Gaulle airport. Since 2002, he has created numerous menus for the “La Première” and “Business” classes of Air France.

Anne-Sophie Pic joins Studio Culinaire Servair
Studio Culinaire Servair will also welcome a new member to its team, Anne-Sophie Pic, as its latest culinary ambassador effective 1 January 2019. In this role she will meet with the other Studio Culinaire chefs on a regular basis as they pool their expertise and brainstorm gategroup’s developments regarding their culinary offers.

Born in Valence (Drôme), Anne-Sophie Pic comes from a long line of chefs, including father André Pic, founder of Maison Pic. She is the only French female chef to have three stars in the Michelin Guide as of 2007, and with a total of 7 Michelin stars for her restaurants in Valence, Paris, London and Lausanne she is the most star-studded French female chef in the world. In 2019, Anne-Sophie will open her first restaurant on the Asian continent in Singapore at the Raffles Hotel and is a featured chef in the current season of Netflix hit culinary series, “The Final Table.”

Xavier Rossinyol, CEO of gategroup announced, “We are extremely pleased that Guy Martin, a founding member of Studio Culinaire Servair, will take over the reigns as head of the studio. His passion for culinary excellence will continue to transform the industry and to further elevate the onboard dining experience. We are also very excited to welcome Chef Anne-Sophie Pic to the group. We are convinced that her creativity and impeccable standards align perfectly with those of Studio Culinaire Servair and we look forward to her contributions.”
