servair has recently been recognized by our customer Air France and KLM Royal Dutch Airlines for its support in their corporate program “SAF” (Sustainable Aviation Fuels)*.
This summer, Air France and KLM presented their SAF program to their partners. This project targets several decarbonization objectives, including :
- The reduction of 30% in CO2 emissions per passenger/km by 2030 compared to 2019
- The use of 10% FAS worldwide in 2030
- Net zero emissions in 2050
Over the next few years, sustainable aviation fuels (SAF) will become the main lever for decarbonizing air transport. SAF is a fuel derived from non-fossil fuel sources that can reduce CO2 emissions by at least 75% over its entire life cycle. They can be used in today’s aircraft without any modifications.
To achieve these objectives, Air France and KLM have identified four key actions:
- The replacement of 80% of their fleet with new generation aircraft that emit less CO2
- Use of 10% sustainable aviation fuel by 2030
- The implementation of 10% of decarbonization efforts such as eco-piloting
- The proposal of travel alternatives with a reduced carbon footprint.
Servair is proud to financially support Air France and KLM in their 2024 corporate SAF program. Through this partnership, servair is actively supporting the transition from fossil fuels to sustainable aviation fuels. An important step forward that contributes to the future of aviation!
