One of servair’s production sites at Roissy CDG airport has just been awarded halal certification, marking a key step in the company’s commitment to welcoming Middle Eastern airlines with exceptional meals.
A rigorous process to guarantee halal compliance
servair has put in place a rigorous operational process and constant checks to ensure that every stage in the preparation of these meals complies with halal criteria:
- Extensive staff training: all teams who will be in direct or indirect contact with halal products have undergone training and awareness-raising to meet halal requirements and avoid any cross-contamination between halal and non-halal products.
- Wearing a halal armband: this will indicate that the halal process is in progress (washing equipment of a halal company, food production of halal products) and that no one is authorized to approach the area concerned.
- Rigorous control of raw materials: each ingredient will be classified as halal or non-halal according to the product data sheet (unauthorized additives, etc.), then stored in the dedicated area.
- Strict separation of flows and preparation areas: dedicated work areas will be separated either physically or in terms of time (with a schedule put in place by the operator) to avoid any risk of cross-contamination.
- A completely renovated kitchen, dedicated to halal dishes: a new kitchen will open in the 1st quarter of 2025 with modern equipment guaranteeing optimal conditions for production.
This certification meets a growing demand from our customers and strengthens servair’s position in the world of in-flight catering.
